MissionStack release notes
Release 0.1.0, next build
In progress. Not on TestFlight yet. 13 changes, grouped by where you'll notice them.
What changed
Look before you lift.
NEW: Starters you can read before you use them. Plan › See starters opens each one as a program page: every week, every day (“Day 2 · Bench day”), every exercise. The first time you open a starter, its cautions show once. Copy one workout or one exercise into your plan, or use the whole program. Use this program asks which week to start, says what it replaces, and lists the cautions.
NEW: Basketball and lacrosse with drill days. Both are now “off-season training”: six workouts a week, with easy drill days (shooting or stick work, footwork, an easy run) between the hard days. The other eight starters are updated too.
Plan reads cleaner. Your week shows each workout’s day number, and a lift’s last result reads “Last time:”.
On the board: with this week’s IronStack build, supersets, circuits and PAP pairs show together with their kind, and a load in each hand reads “60 ea × 8”. If your iPhone locks or drops off, the board picks it up again within 5 minutes. A long workout name on Stacked no longer runs into the date.
Also: on Apple TV, Pair iPhone, Pause and Close sit at the left, clear of Apple TV’s notices. At the largest text sizes, the sidebar puts each symbol above its name.
Try this: open Plan › See starters › Strongman: getting started and read week 3 before you use it. Then copy one workout into your plan.
Every change in this build
Board
- With IronStack’s next TestFlight build, the board lists a superset, circuit or PAP pair together. Its kind shows beside where you are (“2 OF 3 SUPERSET”), a group you haven’t started yet has a dim line down its side, and a load in each hand reads “60 ea × 8”, as on your iPhone.
- The board picks your workout up again after a short drop. If your iPhone locks or leaves the Wi-Fi mid-workout and is back within 5 minutes, the board carries on by itself, without “Remember this iPhone”. Before, it lost that workout until you scanned again.
- On Stacked, a long workout name no longer runs into the date. It shrinks, then shows what comes after the colon (a starter’s “Week 3, day 1: Squat and press” shows “Squat and press”), then is cut at a word. VoiceOver still reads the whole name.
- The board is ready for remembered iPhones to join with an id that changes every 45 minutes, not the same one every time. Phones join this way once an IronStack TestFlight build sends the new id; until then they join as before.
Plan
- A starter program opens on the same kind of page as your plan: its weeks one at a time, each day with its number (“Day 2 · Bench day”), and each workout and exercise you can open.
- A starter’s cautions show once, the first time you open it. After that, copy any workout to a day of your plan, or any exercise into one of your workouts, or use the whole program.
- Use this program asks once: which week it starts on and what it replaces, with the program’s cautions listed, and one “Use this program” button.
- Under each exercise, “Last time:” shows the last time you did it, however long ago (it said “Last week:”).
- Each workout on the week’s list has its day number over its name.
- Plan has a new line under its title. It reads “Find, review and build.”
- Basketball and lacrosse are now “off-season training”: 6 workouts a week for 6 weeks, with drill days and one day off a week. The other eight starters have their latest updates.
Apple TV
- Pair iPhone, Pause and Close now sit at the left of the screen, so they stay clear of the top-right corner where Apple TV shows its notices.
Accessibility
- At the largest text sizes, each place in the sidebar puts its symbol above its name, so a name like “Home” is never broken across two lines.
